Somewhere I still have the archives of my old blog, which stretches back to maybe 2001, which offered a chronicle of my adventures as a student at Georgia State, as an advocate for public transit and a better city, and as a commentator on whatever else came to mind. It’s time to start again.
What’s with the name?
Anytime I’m associated with a funny name of some kind, my answer is generally, “I couldn’t think of a better name at the time, and I had better things to do.” It was still pretty early in the days that anyone could purchase their own .com domain name. My own name was already taken, in addition to all sorts of puns off my name I could come up with — winternet, winteractive, etc. So I began to play with the idea that at the time I was in my early 20’s, and I was looking forward to what my future would bring. My adventures, or my business ventures if I were freelancing… and a domain name was born.
Joeventures Reborn
Today I am back to being a student for at least a short time, to learn the practice of software engineering through Ruby on Rails. But again I’ll write blog posts on a variety of topics and once again offer a chronicle of my adventures. Let’s move forward!
